DIY: Yarn Ball Decorations
Yarn Ball Decorations are easy, fun, and creative projects to make and can be placed almost anywhere around the house to add style and a bit of fun!
Here are the materials needed:
-Yarn
-Sheets of Newspaper
-12'' Balloons
-Variety of glue sources you have around the house (ModPodge, Elmers, and Tacky Glue will all work)
-Bowl to hold the glue
-Scissors
Now you're ready to get started!
Step 1: Gather all materals; cut long strands of yarn, lay out a sheet of newspaper, pour enough glue into the bowl, and blow up the ballons about halfway - just to the point where they are round in shape.
Step 2: Stir strands of yarn into a container filled with glue (thin slightly with water if necessary) to coat. Wrap yarn around your balloon, continuing to wet additional strands with glue until your balloon is covered as much as you’d like. Tuck final strand beneath other strands so it does not pull apart off of the balloon.
Step 3: Tie strands of yarn around the end of the ballons and hang them from your upper kitchen cabinets to dry. Be sure to place a sheet of newspaper or as many as you need underneath the ballons to catch any glue that might drip from the bottom of them as they dry. Let yarn balls dry for at least 24 hours.
Step 4: After the yarn balls have dried for at least 24 hours, pop the balloon inside and pull it out of the yarn circle frame. You have completed the project! Enjoy the decorations you have created!
