DIY: Melted Crayon Art

Melted Crayon Art is a fun and easy project to create if you're looking for a creative decoration for your house, or a craft to do for fun!

Materials you will need:

-A blank canvas

-Crayons, new or old (60-70 needed for a 16'' x 20'' canvas)

-Hot glue gun

-heat tool or hair dryer with a diffuser or low blower setting

-Newspaper

You're ready to get started!

How to create this project:

Step 1: Gather materials, cover your work surface in newspaper. Then, decide what kind of color spectrum you are going to do. You don't have to do a rainbow! You could only do cool colors, warm colors, a random assortment, or a stripe design. Lay out your crayons along the top edge of your canvas until you like how the color sequence looks. Then, hot glue each crayon down right next to one another with the non-pointed side of the crayon an the top edge of the canvas.

Step 2: Once your crayons are glued down, prop your cavas up on a slight angle. Turn on your heat tool or hair dryer. If you are using a hair dryer, put it on a low blower setting or use a diffuser, otherwise, the wax will go everywhere.

Step 3: Focus the heat on the crayons. They will turn sweaty and begin dripping down the surface of the canvas. You can change the tilt of the canvas to control how fast the crayons drip. Once you're satisfied with how it looks, let it cool for a few minutes.

Step 4: You have completed the project! You are now able to hang up the beautiful creation you have made.
