DIY: Impressions in Clay
Impressions in clay are always a fun project and can be used as an ornament in the end, or just a pretty decoration around the house!
Materials Needed:
-sculpey clay (ultra light)
-rolling pin
-cookie cutter
-decorative piece for the impression
-toothpick
-hemp twine
-beads(optional)
Step 1:
Role out the Sculpey Clay (Ultra Light), and use a decorative piece, a piece of greenery in lieu of a natural green is what this demonstration shows. It would make a deep impression into the clay and be re-usable throughout the process. Press your piece into the clay, filling the surface partially.
Step 2: Place your cookie cutter into the clay.
Step 3:
Once the ornament shapes were created, use a toothpick to make circles in each new clay shape. Later you could thread hemp twine and beads through the opening to create ornaments.
Step 4:
Cook the ornaments in the oven for 5 minutes, and if they are not hard, continue to check on them as they are in the oven until they are hardned. After cooking the ornaments in the oven, the clay is now hardened.
Step 5:
Tie the hemp twine through the hole in your creation and add beads to add style! This can be used as an ornament or just as a pretty design for your home!
