DIY: Ombre Vase
If you have clear glass vases or bottles in your house and want to add some detail to them in order to make them more fun, now is your chance!
This DIY project allows you to make your vase look as if it were filling with a certain color of smoke, depending on the color of spray paint you use. Best of all, it doesn't take up much time and only uses a few materials!
Materials Needed:
Spray Paint
Glass vase
Rubbing Alcohol
Warm water
Scrubbing sponge
1. Start by removing your label. Peel of the label/paper as much as you can and then soak the bottle in warm water for about 20 minutes.
2. Use a scrubbing sponge to remove any residue, dry, then touch up blemishes on the glass with rubbing alcohol.
3. Head to a well ventilated area and start spray painting! To successfully achieve the fading look, flip your glass bottle/vase upside down and spray paint the bottom/base, moving in a circular fashion. The paint will naturally speckle up the sides of your bottle, creating a look as if there is smoke forming at the bottom of your vase.
Voilà, and it’s only takes 10 minutes to do. Just be sure to clean this vase with a damp cloth.
